Hello! My name is Rachel. Ever since a young girl I have loved to bake. I remember going to the grocery store with my mom and seeing a cake being decorated behind the bakery counter. I stood there mesmerized and knew that’s what I wanted to do when I grew up. As I got older, my passion for cooking and baking only grew. My freshman year of college I toured three culinary schools in New York and also visited the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley. Life had other plans for me and I graduated with a BFA in Studio Arts.

Fast forward a few years and I found myself back in school getting my Masters in Education. I currently teach Kindergarten and love my job. But baking has and will always be my first passion. I used to make cakes for friends and family for different occasions, but the anxiety that came along with it was not for me. I always loved the fancy decorated cookies I would see at parties, but I hated how sweet they were. Something that looks that good should also taste good. And so I began making my own with a twist. Instead of the overly sweet sugar cookie, I use a subtly sweet but deliciously buttery shortbread cookie.

I believe that good food doesn’t require fancy or complex ingredients, which is why I take pride in the simplicity of my recipe and the delicious buttery shortbread cookies that result from using fresh simple ingredients. Each cookie is rolled, cut, and decorated by yours truly. Baked as always, with love.
